The Resolution Solution- Part 2
This “recipe’ for a better life is one that I consistently use with clients. And they are consistently experiencing amazing results.
You have read PART 1- The Listening Exercize. You have spent the last week noticing the constant, negative chatter in your head. The test results are in and you get the news that you have the affliction called Monkey Mind.
What do you do now?
After the diagnosis, you come to the realization that you need to rid yourself of this “un-cute” creature who has taken up residence in your internal world.
Where do you find the cure?
The cure lies in THE RESOLUTION SOLUTION.
Here are some simple steps to empower your mind, extract your Monkey and manifest your destiny!
STEP ONE: PREPARATION - MAPPING YOUR STRATEGY
What you will need:
1-A packet of notecards or a blank notebook
2-Fifteen extra minutes per day - morning is advisable, but evenings are fine
3-The deep desire to be the master of your destiny!
4-The belief that you are worth it
5-To trust in the process
A THOUGHT: Notecards and setting aside time are a good start, but, you must have conviction for the eviction. The conviction to put the the Monkey out once and for all. Be rid of him. Without the weight of his words you are lighter and stronger to begin your journey down the path to your new life.
STEP TWO: UNDERSTAND HIS MOTIVES
Pick three of the Monkey’s favorite statements and boil them down to three simple sentences. The might look something like this:
I will never lose weight
I hate my body
I will never win at this
Wow. Listen look at those sentences! Are you relating to these? Or something very similar? If the answer is "Yes" might be realizing that you have allowed the Monkey to paint a pretty bleak picture of your life. And if you haven't realized it before, you know he is motivated by your failure!
THINK ABOUT THIS: How does life go when you are constantly scripting negative thoughts? Not too well, right? Negative thoughts draw negative events to our lives. If we don’t think of ourselves as doing well, being well, feeling accomplished, confident, etc., it is likely those thoughts are standing in the way of our dreams being fulfilled.
So how to create this shift?
STEP 3-BEGIN THE EVICTION PROCESS
Take a piece of notebook paper and draw a line down the middle
Start with three sentences you want to transform
Write the negative sentence in the left column and in the right column write a transformative, positive statement
HERE'S AND EXAMPLE:
NEGATIVE SENTENCE EXAMPLE: “I will never lose weight.”
POSITIVE SENTENCE EXAMPLE: “I trust completely in my ability to eat nourishing, weight stabilizing foods.”
This exercize will begin to send a message to the Monkey to start looking for a new home outside of your head.
STEP 4 - TELL HIM TO PACK HIS BAGS
AFFIRMATIONS OVER RESOLUTIONS
You probably see where we are headed. We are replacing resolutions with affirmations. This is the true solution!
Affirmations are big part of my work. WHY? Because they bring results.
You have completed three sentence transformations, and it is time to write your single transformation affirmation. Your affirmation does not have to include all the transformative sentences. Nor should it. It could be a simple as “I am now confident in my abilities in all areas of my life.”
NOTE: Start your affirmation with the words “I am now...
EXAMPLE- "I am now experiencing great joy in life. A life that is full of abunance and love."
It is as if your future self-talking to your current self. And don’t be concerned about time tables. I am a firm believer that the affirmation will open the “universal portal” for all to happen in the time it was meant to happen.
Pay attention - this is the important part!
Because an affirmation is the ultimate thought, it will begin to send signals to your subconscious mind. Take it in. Observe the shifts that get created from this process!

Affirmations have the power to drown out your failure dialog (Monkey Mind)
Affirmations have the power to release you from the prison of paralysis -precipitating your walk to freedom from inaction.
Affirmations have the power to bring your dreams to life
PART 5- COMMITTING TO KEEP HIM OUT

If you then get out your notebook or index cards and write the affirmation down, BY HAND, every day for 30 days following this format:
Day Number of times you will write down your affirmation
REMEMBER: YOU must be your own best friend in life. Once you master that, you will attract a better life. Watch as the right jobs, people, events, etc. enter your life.
